This syllabus covers the potential benefits and challenges of Ethical and Sustainable Robust Artificial Intelligence, the basic process of Machine Learning (ML), the challenges and risks associated with an AI project, and the future of AI and Humans in work.
Certificate in Artificial Intelligence
The BCS Essentials Certificate in Artificial Intelligence tests a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the terminology and the general principles. This syllabus covers the potential benefits; types of Artificial Intelligence; the basic process of Machine Learning (ML); the challenges and risks associated with an AI project, and the future of AI and Humans in work.
Understanding Data in Your Organisation
This program takes a look at different types of data, the data lifecycle, the principles of data architecture and the
importance of data quality and security. It also provides an introduction to the role of data analysis, and
will act as a good starting point for those wishing to develop their knowledge and understanding of the
principles of data to consider its use within AI and Machine Learning.
Data Visualisation
This program is designed for anyone wishing to gain an understanding of how data is used to make decisions in an organisation and the importance of presenting accurate data in a way that enables decision-making to happen. It includes the principles of data-driven decision making, and the tools that can be employed in data storage, analysis and presentation.
It will enable candidates to understand these concepts at a Foundation Level, incorporating processes, frameworks and techniques used. It also looks towards the future use of data and how AI can present data in different ways to help organisations better understand their data.
Big Data
This program will enable candidates to understand how to manage Big Data and its use with Machine Learning. Candidates will explore the terminology, general principles, concepts and approaches related to the management of Big Data, including the relationship between data and information, and an understanding of Big Data frameworks (including Hadoop) and applicable solutions.
Understanding the Role of Ethics in the Responsible Use of AI
This award considers the responsibility of organisations and society towards ensuring AI is implemented for the good of others. It considers the potential harm AI may pose, and the safeguards that can be implemented to ensure it is used safely, ethically and for the good of society. Candidates will be encouraged to explore the benefits associated with AI and the potential value it can add towards the continued evolution of humankind if managed well.
How AI Can Support Your Organisation
This program is designed for those wishing to gain an understanding of how AI can play a role shaping the future of their organisation. Candidates will explore the evolution of AI from its inception to present day, and identify potential future AI opportunities which exist to drive organisational strategy at all levels.
It considers how AI can make improvements to processes, products and services, enabling an organisation to gain a competitive edge within the market, and the benefits and potential implications it has for the human workforce.
